Many dream of a trip to a Disney Park. Much planning, preparation, and saving go into a dream vacation. Even if the unexpected, like a rain shower, happens, many feel that a "rainy day at Disney is still better than a sunny day at home."

Unfortunately, even the Walt Disney Company cannot create the ideal park day.

Florida has been hit pretty hard this year with record-low temps, a fog advisory, and even an extreme heat advisory.

Last night, July 24, 2026, Guests at both Disney's Yacht Club and Disney's Beach Club were evacuated around 8:00 pm. Although both resorts are located beside each other and share amenities such as Stormalong Bay, they operate on separate fire alarm systems.

One Guest at Disney's Yacht Club was evacuated while dining at the Ale & Compass Restaurant. Once Guests and Cast Members were allowed to return inside, the Guest and his family were told that their meal was free of charge.

Walt Disney World Resorts do routine fire alarm testing, but they always provide signage to warn Guests. This did not appear to be scheduled testing.

Safety is Key

Disney trains Cast Members in the "5 Keys" which help to provide the highest quality of hospitality to all guests. These include Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency. Safety is listed first and is vitally important to provide safety for all guests and fellow Cast Members.

Guests noted that at both Walt Disney World Resort evacuations, Cast Members were also evacuated. Thankfully, it appears that these were simply false alarms, but it is good to see that care is taken to provide safety for all Guests and Cast Members in the event of an actual fire.
