New Arrival Experience: Changes for EPCOT's Park Entrance

We weren't expecting to see these differences as we entered EPCOT. Find out the reason behind these changes.

Disney Parks are magical lands with beautiful landscapes. At Walt Disney World, the horticulture team has a tough job with intense summer heat.

Surprisingly, this past winter, the horticulture team also had to prepare for an icy blast of winter weather. In order to prepare for this icy, arctic blast, Cast Members worked tirelessly to cover many plants and flower beds throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

Unfortunately, there were a few casualties from the big freeze. Earlier we shared signs posted from the Disney Horticulture Team stating, "Please pardon our appearance, we had a visit from Jack Frost."

EPCOT's New Landscape

The Disney Horticulture Team shares, "We are in the process of replanting this area for your future enjoyment."

The large palm trees at EPCOT's park entrance were greatly affected by this freeze. Recently, we noticed that the former Foxtail Palms were now replaced with new Sylvester Palms.

The newer Sylvester Palms will thrive even if Elsa chooses to "Let It Go" with the icy winter weather.

EPCOT Fountain Drained

The fountain located in front of Spaceship Earth has been drained for several days. We are unsure of the reason why, but it is a notable change when taking in the beauty of Spaceship Earth.

New Sylvester Palm Trees are now planted at the entrance of EPCOT.

Hopefully, the water will return to this fountain soon. The park entrance at EPCOT gives such a magical vibe, especially at night.
