Disney World Cracks Down on Free Transportation
Getting around Walt Disney World may be more difficult with this new restriction. Find out what this means for your next trip.
Disney Transportation

There are many differing opinions on transportation options, largely depending upon which Disney Resort you are staying at and also which Park you will be visiting.
The Walt Disney World Resort is HUGE, and many questions revolve around what is the quickest mode of transportation to arrive at each Park.
Some guests choose their Disney resort based on transportation options, particularly with resorts along the monorail loop and the Disney Skyliner.
Disney Springs Transportation

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you can take Disney Transportation to Disney Springs. Some Resorts offer bus transportation or water taxi transportation. Recently, Disney has changed security and overnight parking restrictions at Disney Springs.
Now even more changes are on the horizon. For quite a while, many Disney Guests used a loophole to enjoy free Disney parking. They would first park at Disney Springs for free, hop on a Disney bus to the Walt Disney World Resort, and then travel to their designated Theme Park.
This required quite a bit of travel time, but it appears that Disney is now closing this loophole. Last New Year's and last Easter, Guests were required to scan their MagicBand to board a Disney bus from Disney Springs.
Disney Springs Restrictions

We have heard rumors that the Easter restriction was a trial run, and according to Cast Members, this trial went well. While many predicted that this transportation restriction would return for July 4th crowds, it appears that this may now be a permanent change.
Disney Springs may soon restrict transportation to Walt Disney World Resorts.
While Disney has not officially announced this permanent change, the temporary restriction requires Guests boarding buses heading towards a Walt Disney World Resort at Disney Springs to show either a Resort room reservation, a dining reservation, or a recreation activity reservation.

They should extend this to the water taxies too
