Just when we thought that we had seen it all with attraction evacuations, this one wins the prize. See the rare evacuation that ended in chaos for Guests aboard the Haunted Mansion.

There is a loyal following of Disney fans for the beloved Haunted Mansion attraction. The idea of the Haunted Mansion varies at each Disney Park around the globe. From mansions to manors, this attraction is a favorite among many Disney guests.
Doom Buggies give a continuous chain of ride vehicles that move through the attraction as one unit. Each individual vehicle can turn in any direction.
Due to the continuous movement of ride vehicles, temporary stops are frequent when guests need a bit more time entering or exiting their doom buggy.
Haunted Mansion Evacuation
Recently, Guests aboard the Haunted Mansion found themselves stopped for longer than usual. To their surprise instead of being told to stay inside their ride vehicle, the lights turned on and they were instructed to exit the ride vehicle.
An announcement shared that Cast Members were no longer allowed to assist Guests in exiting the ride vehicles. Guests were told to press the lever to the left of the ride vehicle in order to exit.
Typically, when there is an evacuation, Cast Members will open ride vehicles and escort Guests to the nearest exit. It is unclear why this protocol changed in this situation. Guests were left confused as they attempted to exit safely.
Tips if you are evacuated off a Disney ride
There are something helpful things to do if you get stuck on an attraction. Always stay calm and follow Cast Member instructions. Also, never get out of the ride vehicle on your own or touch parts of the ride on your way out.
