Unexpected Change Aboard EPCOT's Gran Fiesta Tour

Without advanced warning, Disney Guests noticed this change aboard EPCOT's Gran Fiesta Tour. Check out the full changes.

This ride is housed in the large pyramid and offers a relaxing boat ride similar to "it's a small world." As Guests sail along, they see that José Carioca and Panchito Pistoles are trying to locate Donald Duck.

At the end of the ride, the 3 Caballeros are reunited. Back in 2021, Disney removed individual members of this animatronic trio for refurbishment.

While refurbishments are often necessary, it seemed odd to see only 2 Caballeros, or even worse, to see Donald Duck replaced by a cactus.

Yesterday, May 28, 2026, Guests noticed that the end scene with the 3 Caballeros looked refreshed.

The best part is that it appears Disney switched animatronics overnight, resulting in no attraction closures or delays for Guests.

Disney Refurbishments

In years past, this would be true Disney magic to have attractions updated after Guests exited the Park. More recently, Guests can see and hear construction throughout the Disney Parks.

Refurbishments also usually include extensive downtime for attractions. While we understand that some refurbishments are a bit more extensive, we would love to see even more refurbishments completed after hours to prevent attractions from closing for Guests.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Donna loved Disney from an early age. As a child, her family would joke that she lived in "Donna Land." As an adult, she enjoys planning and creating magical vacations for her family. She always brings a little faith, trust, and a little bit of Pixie Dust!
