Breaking: Disney Stores Return to Select Malls for a Limited Time
Disney is at it again to try and bring back their valued customers. A few years ago, Disney shuttered many of its Disney Stores, but now we see a return of the Disney Store once again.
Disney Store Closing
Over the years, many local Disney Stores have closed. Disney announced that they would be closing some of their brick-and-mortar stores as their focus has shifted to online shopping.
There was nothing quite like the awe and wonder of visiting your local Disney Store.
Interestingly, pop-up Disney shops are now available at Target. This was an interesting shift for many.
Disney Store Returns
The Walt Disney Company is now partnering with Go! Retail Group to relaunch pop-up Disney Store retail locations.
On May 23, 2026, the first Disney Store destination shop will open at Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, PA.
The second destination shop will open in Fall 2026 at Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, NJ.
New Disney Store Limited Time Experience
Disney promises, "Filled with authentic Disney merchandise, unforgettable experiences, and a space to celebrate the fandom and wonder of Disney, these stores will carry on Disney Store's mission to meet the fans where they're at in an environment that reflects Disney Store's creativity, storytelling, and quality."
First Disney Store location opens on May 23, 2026.
The best part is that these limited-time Disney Store locations will include the immersive experiences that we still miss, like the opening ceremony. My (Donna) kids still get excited when they remember helping Sorcerer Mickey open our Disney Store for the day.
Guests can also enjoy immersive in-store designs and exclusive Disney Store merchandise.
We hope that these pop-up locations do well and this may expand to other Disney Store locations.
