Hollywood Studios Changes

In the wise words of Walt Disney, the Disney Parks will continue to be reimagined as long as there is imagination left in the world. However, the current state of Disney's Hollywood Studios does not match the initial concept for this 3rd Theme Park at Walt Disney World.

With the removal of The Great Movie Ride, The Studio Backlot Tour, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, to name a few classics, the original idea of MGM Studios serving as a window into "Old Hollywood" has changed.

Thankfully, today, much of this nostalgia returns to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is set to reopen a new land, "Magic of Disney Animation", in phases starting May 26, 2026.

Today, we shared that this new land will bring back Old Hollywood vibes with hand and foot impressions similar to those featured at the Chinese Theater.

Sorcerer Hat Returns to Hollywood Studios

Many loyal Disney fans remember the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat at Disney's Hollywood Studios in the early 2000's. After being removed in 2015, Disney delighted Guests with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat in the original concept art for "Magic of Disney Animation".

The phased opening of "Magic of Disney Animation" begins May 26, 2026.

Overnight, the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat returned as featured above. This gives all of the nostalgic Disney feels.
