Disney's Hollywood Studios Brings Back Old MGM Vibe
Do you miss the Old Hollywood vibe of MGM Studios? Walt Disney World finally listened to us and brings back the nostalgia of MGM in this new area.
Missing MGM Vibe
MGM Studios opened to Guests on May 1, 1989. The theme of this new park was to serve as a window into "Old Hollywood." MGM Studios welcomed Guests, but it also served as a production studio for both television and movies.
Many of the opening day attractions have since closed, and this park even received a name change to Disney's Hollywood Studios back in 2008.
Now Walt Disney World will bring back the original MGM vibes with this new land set to open this summer.
Magic of Disney Animation
Animation Courtyard permanently closed on September 25, 2025. This made way for "The Magic of Disney Animation".
Disney shares that this will "be a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences."
"Magic of Disney Animation" will open in phases this summer. First to open this summer will be "Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!" This will be a similar show to what has delighted guests at Disneyland.
Magic of Disney Animation Reveal
Concrete is now poured at "Magic of Disney Animation," and a few friends stopped by to add a few magical touches. Cinderella stopped by, but lost her glass slipper again. Her imprint shows one glass slipper on and a bare foot next to it.
Disney character handprints are part of the magic of "Magic of Disney Animation" at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Our favorite alien, Stitch, who was animated in Florida, also made his mark, but in true alien form, he has 6 sets of prints.
