Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin Changes
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin officially reopened yesterday, April 8, 2026. Big changes were announced for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. The ride vehicles will receive a huge overhaul with video monitors and handheld blasters.
These new vehicles will feature handheld blasters and video monitors with real-time scoring (unlimited high scores!).
Previously, Guests hoped to score 999,999 aboard Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin to earn the coveted title of Galactic Hero. Now, Guests must score +1,000,000 to become a Galactic Hero. Check out the full breakdown HERE.
Tips to Become a Galactic Hero
First Galactic Hero tip: Aim for the center of every target to make each point count. Second tip: harder to hit targets are worth more points.
Third, targets now interact when hit, which lets you know that you successfully scored. A few targets will have a random white or multicolored ring around them. The white rings offer double points.
The multicolored rings unlock a bonus round, which increases the target's values. If this multicolored ring isn't hit within seconds, it will vanish and appear at another space in the attraction.
3 Strategies to Become a Galactic Hero
Lastly, try different strategies. There are now 3 strategies to become a Galactic Hero: the "Secret Target Strategy", "Illuminated Targets", and a "Bonus for Target Hit".
The "Secret Target Strategy" relies on the previous strategy to become a Galactic Hero. Guests who can remember where secret targets are located can score BIG points. Many of the secret targets are still in place from before, along with a few new surprises.
Galactic Hero is now awarded with a score of 1,000,000 or higher.
We shared about illuminated targets earlier and this is a great strategy. For the "Bonus for Target Hit strategy", players will receive bonus points at the very end of the game based on the number of distinct targets you hit throughout the game.
