Popular EPCOT Attraction Closed for Third Day in a Row

Bad news for guests visiting Walt Disney World this week. One of the most popular attractions has been closed on and off for multiple days, and today isn't looking promising for it to reopen.

Bad news for guests visiting Walt Disney World this week. One of the most popular attractions has been closed on and off for multiple days, and today isn't looking promising for it to reopen.

Oftentimes, the ride reopens when the weather passes or the issue gets fixed. However, sometimes it can also lead to a multi-day closure. Ride closures not only affect that attraction but create a ripple effect as well.

Higher wait times can be seen at other park attractions as guests scramble to revamp their touring plans.

EPCOT Warning

Yesterday, we shared that Walt Disney World alerted Guests that Spaceship Earth was currently unavailable through a My Disney Experience push notification.

This is not a good sign for Guests visiting EPCOT today. While this does not indicate that Spaceship Earth will be closed for the entire day, it does imply that it is more complicated than simply "temporarily unavailable".

What makes this even more troubling is that Spaceship Earth was closed for Saturday, Sunday, and now today, March 23, 2026.

Reason for Spaceship Earth Closure

While Disney has not confirmed the reason for this closure, this appears to be more complicated than a standard delay.

Spaceship Earth is now closed for the 3rd day in a row.

When asked, Spaceship Earth Cast Members share that they are unsure when the attraction will reopen, but encourage Guests to enjoy other great attractions. Cast Members also created a fun entertainment option while the attraction is closed. Check this out HERE.

Guests may continue checking the My Disney Experience app throughout the day to see if it may have reopened. Just as a reminder, Spaceship Earth last closed for a brief refurbishment in August 2025.

UPDATE: Spaceship Earth reopened at 10:38 am on March 23, 2026.
