Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village is undergoing a refurbishment. Take a look at what this entails!

From time to time, Disney has scheduled refurbishments for anything from rides and restaurants to hotels. Even though we all may not like seeing or hearing construction, it is a necessary part of keeping things safe and up to date. We all want to be able to enjoy the nice new things, and refurbishments have to happen for this to occur.

When the guest rooms are refurbished, this can include soft goods refurbishment (meaning that changes that took place surround paint, furniture, and other accent items) or a complete overhaul of the room.

Animal Kingdom Guest Room Refurbishment

Last August, Disney shared that Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village would be undergoing refurbishment beginning October of 2025. This refurbishment is expected to last through May 2026.

At that time, Disney did not share any details of what the refurbishment would include.

Once Kidani Village's refurbishment was complete, Disney would then begin work at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House. This refurbishment is expected to last through January 2027.

Disney Vacation Club recently shared a look at one of the updates that has taken place at Kidani Village with its Members.

A Murphy-style pull-down bed has now replaced the pull-out couch in this refurbishment.

In the refurbishment, a Murphy-style pull-down bed has replaced the pull-out style couch! A mural has also been added that Guests can see when the bed is down that "embraces the spirit of Africa."

It has also been reported that the rooms have received new flooring (no more carpet!), renovated bathrooms, and new furniture.

Guests may continue to see and hear construction while these refurbishments are completed.
