Disney Just Canceled the Bachelorette on ABC
You are reading that correctly. Here are all the details surrounding why the Bachelorette has been canceled. There will be no rose.
The Bachelorette Canceled

ABC has aired 21 seasons of The Bachelorette. The show has been running for over 20 years.
The popular reality series follows the same general pattern each season. A young, beautiful Bachelorette dates a field of eligible bachelors, hoping to narrow them down week after week until she finds the one she is meant to marry.
Season 22 of The Bachelorette was supposed to premiere on March 22. But the season has been canceled! There will be no roses. The reason for the cancellation comes with a trigger warning, so read further with caution.
Why Was the Bachelorette Canceled

The Bachelorette has not aired since 2024. The much-anticipated Season 22 of The Bachelorette was supposed to belong to Taylor Frankie Paul.
"The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star was leaving Utah behind for a chance to find love. She made the rather unexpected announcement months ago. The show typically features a former Bachelor contestant, and she was set to break the mold.
However, Disney Entertainment suddenly pulled the plug on the season. Everything changed when a video surfaced that depicts Taylor Frankie Paul physically attacking her ex, Dakota Mortensen, in the presence of a child.
Statement from Disney Entertainment

A Disney Entertainment spokesperson made a statement regarding the cancellation. "In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not to move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family."
Season 22 of the Bachelorette has been canceled.
And so season 22 of The Bachelorette will not premiere on Sunday as planned. An American Idol rerun will air in its place.
In the meantime, we sincerely hope that Taylor Frankie Paul, Dakota Mortensen, and especially the children caught in the middle receive the help and support they need.
