Will the Grand Cottage Return to Disney's Grand Floridian for 2026?
Many Walt Disney World Guests love to visit Disney's Grand Floridian around Easter for the beautiful Easter Eggs and the Grand Cottage. Find out what we know so far about whether this will return this year.
Grand Floridian Refurbishment
The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is Disney's flagship resort. It is also one of the nicest and most elegant resorts on the property.
However, the Grand Floridian has been in a state of refurbishment for the last several years, affecting many of its special amenities.
The Grand Floridian lobby is going through a major refurbishment. A new lounge, The Perch, has recently opened. Along with the Garden View Lounge reopening soon!
Grand Floridian Refurbishment Extended 2027
Earlier, we shared the updated warning about the refurbishment timeline. It now reads:
"Renovations at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will continue in select areas, including the porte cochere, through early 2027. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work during daytime hours or need to take alternate paths of travel."
This past Christmas season the beautiful Gingerbread House was missing from the Grand Floridian Lobby. Many have wondered if this would affect the Grand Cottage from returning for Easter.
Rumor: Grand Cottage Not Returning 2026
We have heard rumors from Cast Members that the Grand Cottage will not open this year at Disney's Grand Floridian. It is uncertain if this is due to the current construction.
Cast Members speculate the Grand Cottage will not return for 2026.
This is not confirmed by Disney, but simply by Cast Members at the Resort. With Easter being on Sunday, April 5, 2026, it would seem that the Grand Cottage would be installed soon.
For example, in 2024 Easter was on March 31, 2024, and on a visit to Disney's Grand Floridian on March 3, 2024, the Grand Cottage was already open, along with a parade of beautifully decorated Disney Easter Eggs.
It is uncertain if the large Easter Egg display could also be affected if, in fact, the Easter Cottage does not return this year.
