There are many changes taking place at Disney's Animal Kingdom, in particular with the phased closure of DinoLand USA. This closure created several ripples of change throughout the Park.

First, this changed locations and costumes for a few of our favorite Animal Kingdom characters. Secondly, came a new badge and the sad retirement of two badges as part of the Wilderness Explorer program.

Thirdly, this brought a brand new menu to Harambe Market. Check out this new menu HERE.

On February 23rd, the Affection Section at Rafiki's Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom temporarily closed. This closure also impacted the Wildlife Express Train, which is the only transportation to reach Rafiki's Planet Watch.

This closes another huge portion of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Also impacted by this closure is the Animation Academy, the indoor animal habitats, and the ability to view real vet procedures taking place.

With the closure of the Wildlife Express Train and Rafiki's Planet Watch, the characters received new greeting locations. Chip and Dale are meeting Guests outside the park entrance.

Now, Timon and Rafiki alternate at the front of the park. When you enter the park and head into The Oasis, just after Garden Gate Gifts on the right, you will find this meet and greet.

Guests will also find that Donald, Daisy, and Goofy have moved to the Wildlife Express Train station. Guests will need to walk the path to the train. Cast Members will then direct you for the Wilderness Explorer Badge or the meet and greet.
