Cosmic Rewind Disappoints with New Change
Trying to "Save the Galaxy" surprised us this week. What do you think of this alternative experience?
Technical Difficulties

It is not uncommon for an attraction to experience downtime throughout the course of the day. Sometimes it's a technical issue that needs to be resolved or the weather is forcing rides to close.
We even frequently see bad weather close to almost all the outdoor attractions if it's bad enough.
Whatever the reasoning is, it can make a more stressful day if the attraction is not loading Guests. It's even more stressful when the issue is park-wide and affecting almost everything!
Disney "B Mode"

Many of the newer attractions have so many moving parts that all lead to the overall experience of the attraction. When one of these parts malfunctions, a backup plan is in place known as the "B Mode."
We see this fairly often over at Disney's Animal Kingdom aboard the Na'vi River Journey. The large Shaman animatronic, at times, is nonoperational, and a one-dimensional version is in place.
Rise of the Resistance has many different "B Modes" but most notably is an alternate scene that replaces Kylo Ren at the end of the attraction. These simpler versions are not ideal, but do allow the attraction to still be enjoyed by guests.
Cosmic Rewind Change

On a recent trip, we set out to "Save the Galaxy" aboard Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, but we experienced an unexpected alternative.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind pre-show altered for several days.
As we entered through the various pre-shows we finally entered into the Teleportation Room. For those guests who have enjoyed this attraction before, you may remember that when you enter this Teleportation Room you are told to stand inside the lighted ring.
After a series of bright flashing lights, the walls that once surrounded you vanish and you are now standing in the Nova Corps Ship. This is such an amazing special effect that truly allows you to feel immersed in this storyline.
This week, the wall is not working in this Teleportation Room, and guests simply walk into the Nova Corps Ship. This does affect the overall experience, particularly for guests enjoying this attraction for the first time.

In the photo above you can see the wall already raised as we entered the Teleportation Room. Thankfully the attraction itself is still working perfectly even without this amazing special effect missing from the pre-show.
What do you think of the "B Modes" for these attractions? Do you think this would affect your overall experience? What do you think of this special effect on Cosmic Rewind? Share your thoughts with us and share this post with a fellow Guardian of the Galaxy.
