The Early Entry Change You Need to Know About for 2026
Early Entry is a special perk for onsite Guests. It replaces the Extra Magic Hour benefit that ended in March 2020. See how this perk is changing this year.
Early Entry Perk
Early Theme Park Entry is a perk for all guests staying at a Disney resort hotel. All guests utilizing this benefit can take advantage of entering the parks 30 minutes before the parks officially open.
What can be done in 30 minutes? A lot more than you think! It can save you hours of waiting later in the day and will free up time for you to knock out other attractions later in the day.
Disney reserves the right to make changes to park operations as needed, and soon, Early Entry will receive a great upgrade.
Early Entry Summer 2026
Don't get us wrong, we do love Early Entry. However, it is disappointing that most characters are unavailable until after the park officially opens for the day.
Last year, Disney finally listened to us and brought us the Disney magic that we've been missing out on for the past five years. This was part of "Cool KIDS SUMMER," and the great news is that this will return this year.
Disney shares, "This summer, characters will be available across all four theme parks during this period. Be sure to visit each theme park across different days so you can see them all!"
Magical Experience
My (Donna) daughter was able to enjoy extra magic during Early Entry last summer. As we celebrated her birthday at the Magic Kingdom, she was able to interact with both Tigger and Chip 'n Dale.
"Cool KIDS' SUMMER" returns May 26, 2026, through September 8, 2026, at Walt Disney World.
This was such a magical experience that did not require waiting in line. The characters simply grabbed my daughter by the hand and walked with her throughout Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.
The added benefit of roaming characters during Early Entry is Disney magic at its best. I am so happy that this benefit will return for "Cool KIDS' SUMMER". Check out the fun character experience coming to Frontierland this summer HERE.
