Tiny New Disney Hotel Amenity Change Makes a Big Difference
Disney has changed one tiny thing at the resort hotels, but, oh boy, does it make a huge difference. Here is why we love this little change!
Disney Toiletries
Did you know that the toiletries provided at the Disney Parks hotels have their own fan following? People have long loved the H2O shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion provided in hotel rooms at the Walt Disney World Resort and on Disney Cruise Line!
You might even be able to find travel-sized bottles fetching a healthy price on eBay. However, over the years, Disney has made changes to phase out the travel-sized bottles and replace them with refillable bottles for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers.
Now that change is impacting the lotions and bar soaps as well. HERE is Donna's announcement with all the details about the initial rollout.
Soap and Lotion Change
I know that I (Kate) don't love the bar soaps provided at Walt Disney World for hand washing. However, soap is important, so I usually bring a little bottle of pump soap along with me for my party's hotel room when we visit Disney World.
Well, it seems Disney has caught onto this trend because they began replacing the bar soap with bottles of pump soap in November. They also began adding similar bottles with lotion to the value rooms.
Guests at Deluxe resorts will no doubt miss having the travel-sized lotions that can be taken along with them to the Parks and beyond. So that change may be disappointing as it continues to roll out across all hotels.
However, there is no denying that the soap and lotion dispensers are a welcome change at the values! Not only is it helpful to have the dispensers instead of the bar soaps, but the soap is actually pretty great in terms of scent and quality! And, I love the idea of no longer having to think to bring my own.
Can You Buy the Soap
If you are anything like me, you might also love the soap and soap dispensers and lotion and lotion dispensers so much that you wish you could use the exact same thing at home! Unfortunately, so far, it is not for sale in Disney gift shops or online. However, Disney would probably do well to sell the bottles so people can feel a little magic at home.
The bottles are currently not for sale at this time.
If you are perhaps contemplating just taking the glass bottle with you, know that this is not encouraged. It could ruin the amenity for everyone if Disney begins losing money on it.
In fact, a CM we chatted with at All-Star Music let us know that if the bottle goes missing, there is a $20 charge to your card on file. Disney has not officially confirmed this for all resorts, but perhaps the measure is needed to prevent theft.
