The Disney Park Closure You Didn't Know to Plan For

There are many things to consider when planning your trip to Walt Disney World. From rainstorms to hurricane planning, Florida weather can put a few wrinkles even in the best-laid travel plans.

With a park located in Central Florida, Walt Disney World tries to update guests on weather advisories as quickly as possible.

Florida has been hit pretty hard this year with record low temperatures in January, a fog advisory, and record high temperatures this summer.

Cold Weather Moving In!

Even though Florida is known as the Sunshine State, it doesn't always mean the weather is perfect to sit by the pool. Cold weather is moving in!

Disney Water Parks may close due to inclement weather, including cold weather.

Grab your jackets and maybe even a winter hat as the low on Thursday December 11th is expected be 48 degrees! The high is only expected at 66. The cold continues into Friday with a low of 45 and the high only reaching 71.

Typhoon Lagoon Closed

As we head into the colder months, it is important to check the weather and park operating hours before heading out. Disney will close the water parks for inclement weather (cold weather included).

Typhoon Lagoon has no operating hours listed on both Thursday, December 11th and Friday, December 12th. Unfortunately, some Disney World Resort Hotel Guests won't be able to take advantage of the free water park admission on checkin day with this closure.

Typhoon Lagoon will be closed Thursday, December 11th and Friday, December 12th.

Be sure to keep in mind that the water parks could close. This unanticipated closure could really disappoint some Guests. We recommend having a back up plan for your arrival day just incase of any unexpected weather closures.
