Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular rides Disney Imagineering has produced. The combination of Star Wars fandom, a unique combination of ride systems, and world-class storytelling has made the ride a hot ticket.

Perhaps the main draw of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is that it does not just immerse fans in the world of Star Wars; it makes them a part of the story.

The popular attraction is located in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney parks on BOTH coasts. You can find it in Disneyland on the West Coast and at Disney's Hollywood Studios on the East Coast.

Unfortunately, it is time for the attraction to undergo refurbishment. Finding out that a ride is going to be closed for refurbishment is disappointing. However, keeping rides running safely is a critical part of maintaining the Disney Magic!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland Park is expected to close on January 20, 2026.

It is important to note that this particular refurbishment only affects the attraction in Disneyland Park in Disneyland in California. It does not impact the attraction in Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.

So far, there is no firm reopening date for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. However, the refurbishment is only expected to last a few weeks.

Hopefully, the attraction will be up and running in time for the holiday weekend in February. We here at Kennythepirate.com will keep you updated if a specific reopening date is announced.

  1. Can you please make it clear from the outset to which park you are referring? It took me most of the article to realize it wa the Rise of the Resistance in DIsneylad, not DIsney World.
