Many people love the feeling of being part of the Disney bubble during their Walt Disney World vacation. Part of the magic is the feeling of safety and security that permeates the parks.
It is true that Walt Disney World is generally a safe place to visit in the grander scheme of things. And in general Cast Memebers are some of the best folks there are! But, just because you are in the Disney bubble does not mean you do not run the risk of encountering troublemakers.
Theft is uncommon, but certainly not unheard of in Disney World. It is best not to leave valuables, irreplaceable possessions, etc., unattended or in plain view, even in your vehicle.
Valet Employee Accused of Theft

Earlier this week, a valet worker at a Disney World Hotel was arrested. The employee was working in the valet service at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge at the time.
According to Fox 35 News, the employee is not a direct employee of Disney. Rather, he works for a valet company called Towne Park, which is a company contracted with Disney.
The employee allegedly attempted to use a guest's checkbook to withdraw money from her account. A woman on the account associated with the checkbook reportedly called the Orange County Sheriff's Office when her bank called and alerted her to four suspicious transactions.
Allegations

The accused valet employee allegedly attempted to withdraw money from the woman's account by using 4 separate checks from her checkbook. The arrest report indicates that the checks range from $98 to $670 for a total of $1248.
A valet employee allegedly attempted to fradualntly withdraw over $1000 from a woman's account.
There was no apparent forced entry into the woman's car, but her checkbook was reported missing. The accused claims he found a blank check in the parking lot and attempted to deposit it in a Disney Springs ATM. He also claims he attempted to decline the transactions and that no money was deposited as a result.
He was booked into jail under suspicion of grand theft by fraud and forgery of a check. The investigation is ongoing.
This isn't the only odd crime reported this year. A few months ago, a person in a scuba suit robbed a Disney Springs restaurant!
