New Live Performances By the Muppets Promised for 2026
2026 is going to be a BIG year for the Muppets! At the Disney Parks, it will be "Time to play the music, it's time to light the lights, it's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight."

In 2026, a full 50 years after the first Muppet Show, Disney+ will stream a special new "The Muppet Show". In true Muppet fashion, guest stars are lined up for this special show. Find the lineup HERE.
A release date has not been given, but it is expected to stream in 2026.
The Muppets will also take over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster with an Electric Mayhem re-theme. Check out the phased closure for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster HERE.
More Muppet Entertainment
The Muppet news does not end there. Time Magazine just published a new Muppet Tribute. In the article, Leigh Slaughter, Vice President of The Muppets Studio and live characters strategy for Walt Disney World Imagineering, shared, "They (the public) want some laughs and a little bit of joy. We're here to make the world a whole lot happier and a little weirder."
Chris Nashawaty shared, "To that end, fans may want to start booking their travel plans for next year, because they're about to see a lot more of Kermit and company."
Nashawaty hints that this will "include live appearances from the characters on land and sea."
Muppets on Land and Sea
Nashawaty did not offer more information, but hinted that on land, Muppets would be offered at the new Rock 'n' Roller Coaster re-theme.

I (Donna) would still love to see the special Muppet show return to Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square. We would love to see more Muppet entertainment.
It will be interesting to see what these "live performances" on the sea may look like. It sounds like 2026 will be the year of the Muppets.
