Universal Filed a Permit for a HUGE Epic Universe Project
Is Universal beginning an Epic Universe Expansion? Here is what the latest permit says.
Expansion for Universal

Epic Universe has not even been open for a full 6 months. Universal Orlando Resort's newest theme park officially opened its gates in May.
Even though the park is still very new, there is already talk of expansion! This is in part driven by an announcement Universal made earlier this year.
Universal Orlando Resort announced that new attractions are coming to all of its parks! Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, stated, "We have a slate of new attractions that were already in development for every one of our parks." You can read the full story HERE.
An Epic Universe Work Permit

On November 7, 2025, a new construction permit was filed for Universal. The address listed on the permit is: 1001 Epic Blvd, Orlando, FL (Universal South Campus - Plat 2). You may have been able to deduce that this is an address consistent with Epic Universe.
The permit is for work on a new 150,000-square-foot building. More specifically, it calls for work on site utilities and the foundation for the building.
That means Universal has something BIG planned for Epic Universe. And, we are hoping it is a new attraction.
A Little Context

If you compare this potential new building to other footprints for existing attractions, it is fair to speculate that this building could eventually house at least one attraction. For example, Epic's massive Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry attraction and Le Cirque Arcanus show take up about 173,000 square feet of space.
What new attraction could be coming to Epic Universe.
Many people speculate that the first Epic Universe addition will be a ride that relates to Luigi's Mansion. We are excited to find out what actually ends up moving in!
What new portals or attractions do you want to see move in at Epic Universe? Feel free to dream with us in the comments.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Katie's favorite park is Animal Kingdom. Her Disney loves include Disney mugs, Dole Whips, POG Juice, the Electrical Water Pageant, Chai Lattes from Joffrey's, and all the Disney Parks music!

No more Wizarding World! And I say that as a devoted Potterhead. Universal has no one to blame but themselves for "MOM" (terrible name for a land) being underwhelming. They should've fully committed to the Fantastic Beasts theme.
Thank you for reading and for commenting. At some point there was a concept floating around for a ride that focused on the beasts, but nothing has ever come of it.
