Epic Universe is Changing Early Park Admission
If you are heading to Epic Universe soon, make sure you know that Early Park Admission is changing. Your strategy will need to change with it.
Early Park Admission at Epic Universe

Guests of a Universal Hotel (and other select guests) can enjoy Early Park Admission for a full hour of extra time experiencing select attractions during their visit to Universal Orlando Resort. The benefit is currently available every single day at Epic Universe.
Right now, through January 31, 2026, guests can enjoy Early Park admission at select attractions. These include: Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, Yoshi's Adventure, Stardust Racers, Constellation Carousel, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, and Curse of the Werewolf.
That is, they can enjoy them IF they are up and running during Early Park admission. Sometimes an attraction (or more than one attraction) experiences a delayed opening.
Changes to EPA for February

However, all of this will change on February 1, 2026! For February 1-28, 2026, the list of portals opening for EPA is more expansive.
The park will offer select participating attractions at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, and How to Train Your Dragon-Isle of Berk. Specific attractions have not been listed at this time.
Perhaps Universal will announce specific rides soon. But, it is also possible that the rides will not be announced and that you will need to simply show up and see what is operational within the portals on the day of your visit. Either way, it is an attractive list for those who have the benefit.
Time to Change Rope Drop Strategies

This change significantly impacts the best rope drop strategy for off-site guests wishing to ride Harry Potter and the Battle of the Ministry. Currently, the ride unofficially opens to all park visitors during Early Park Admission, or as soon as the ride is operational.
You will need to adjust your Epic Universe Rope Drop Strategy in February
When it is up and running, this has been a very good way for off-site guests to enjoy the ride at the start of the day because there is no limitation for who can enter the portal. EPA draws the onsite guests to Super Mario World. However, now that Early Park Admission guests will have access to Ministry of Magic, off-site guests will have to wait their turn to enter the portal at all, so it is no longer going to be an effective strategy for them.
This will, of course, also expand the choices for on-site guests. It is too early to know exactly how crowds will move. But, it is highly possible that at least for the first little while, Super Mario World will still be where people flock, in part because it gets so hot as the day wears on, and in part because many people won't have realized that there has been a change to EPA. So, it might be best to start with a different portal.
It will be interesting to see if Universal announces specific rides for EPA at Epic Universe. We will let you know if that happens.
Are you disappointed or excited about the expansion to EPA at Epic Universe? Let us know! And share the news with your family and friends who are visiting soon, so they know what to expect.
