When you think of Disney dining you most likely think of Character Dining. Character meals are a great way to get out of the heat and meet some fun characters.

Enjoying a character meal will let you have a meal without waiting in line to meet characters. While select character meals allow guests to meet more rare characters.

Many guests justify the higher price of Character Dining for this reason, even though the actual food may not be worth the cost.

Lunch and dinner offers five different themed dining experiences for guests throughout the year.

For several years, guests dining at Hollywood and Vine enjoyed meeting Disney Jr. characters during breakfast. "Beginning yesterday, October 12, 2025, Minnie Mouse and her friends will appear at breakfast for Minnie's Seasonal Dining."

The really sad part of this change is that this is not the only Disney Junior change planned. On September 25, 2025, Disney Jr. Play and Dance! closed for the newly imagined The Magic of Disney Animation.

We hoped that our favorite Disney Jr. pals would still be available to meet during these changes, but they have not yet returned to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

New rare characters are now greeting guests at Disney's Hollywood Studios, but our Disney Jr. pals are now removed from meet and greets, the Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show, and now also from Hollywood and Vine character dining.

  1. The Disney Jr characters are permanently retired from appearing in the parks daily, they’re never coming back.

To be fair, the entire experience went downhill after Sofia the First was wrongfully phased out in 2019, and yet it was still okay for the three DJR characters that still appeared at the parks on a daily basis until just recently

  2. About time. Those characters are so out dated and the prices have gone through the roof. We stopped going 4 yrs ago and we live next to WDW. Disney should change the child age requirements. Kids 10 to 12 or even 14 dont have the palette for the adult menu yet they are allowed to eat nuggets and fries at adult pricing. The food is mediocre at best so I guess Disney thinks changing the characters will make a diff. Good luck.
