Dollywood was recently voted America's Favorite Theme Park. And now a brand new addition is going to make it even better! It's a thrill ride that is like nothing else in the world!
It is no secret that Dollywood has been hard at work constructing something brand new. Guests have been able to spot the construction happening beyond Big Bear Mountain from various parts of Wildwood Grove. And, there are more great views from the famous Dollywood Express.
What exactly is being built has been shrouded in secrecy. But today (Sept 17, 2025), the park made its big announcement!
NightFlight Expedition
Soon, the huge building being constructed will come to life. NightFlight Expedition opens in 2026!
The new ride, NightFlight Expedition, promises to be the first of its kind! Expanding on Wildwood Grove, NightFlight Expedition is a groundbreaking hybrid coaster and whitewater river ride. Your hosts Cora and Jasper Oakley will take you on an extraordinary journey to discover the mystery of the legendary Secret Lake.
Adventurers will experience four thrilling experiences! They will fly through the Smokies, conquer raging rapids, climb mountain peaks, and glide across a shimmering lake.

Many people speculated that the new ride would be like Soarin' set in the Smoky Mountains. But it is so much more than that!
