New Warning for Disney World Resort Parking

Disney World Resort guests will want to plan ahead, as Disney issues this new warning for parking. Check out all of the resorts affected by this change.

With over 30 Disney World resorts, there are a lot of parking spaces for Guests to park their cars. Resort overnight parking is free for all Guests staying at that hotel.

Standard theme park parking is also free for Guests of Disney World hotels and Annual Passholders. Guests at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, and Disney's Coronado Springs Resort can enjoy valet parking for a fee.

Many times, guests hope to drive and park at a different Walt Disney World Resort than they are staying at to enjoy dining or shopping

Indeed, you do not have to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants, provided you have an Advanced Dining Reservation. All guests must check in at the resort gate to verify that they have a dining reservation to gain entrance.

Last night, August 15th, Guests visiting Disney's Polynesian Village Resort noticed a new change. Those using a rideshare service enter as usual, but now guests parking their own car at Disney's Polynesian will receive a parking pass.

This parking pass is valid only for three hours and specifies the meal period. The pass is to be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle.

Reason for this change

Select Disney Resorts have required parking passes in the past for visitors, but these are typically around holiday periods. Our best guess is that the parking pass is now required at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party dates.

The parking pass also provides detailed instructions for guests. After passing through the gate, "guests are to make an immediate right into the Polynesian Village parking lot. Once parked, please use the sidewalk to the Great Ceremonial House."
