It may only be August, but Halloween is already here! That is, Halloween is here if you are visiting Walt Disney World.
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party kicks off today, August 15, 2025. The spooky season is in full swing!
Some guests are excited to go trick-or-treating. Other guests are excited to see the Halloween spectacular, fireworks, and parade. And many are thrilled to meet all the characters that will be visiting the Magic Kingdom like Jack and Sally. People are especially thrilled to meet those who only appear rarely.
A Rare Villain Surprise
If you love devious divas, get excited. Disney just made it official that one of the baddest of them all will be visiting Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
Mother Gothel is putting in an appearance at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. This villain from Tangled is known for her vanity and her attempts to stay young using the enchanted locks of her stolen daughter, Rapunzel.
This means that Tangled will have a little tiny bit more of a presence in the parks beyond a bathroom while the Halloween party in town.
Mother Gothel's Announcement
This will be Mother Gothel's first time at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. She has been spotted greeting guests at the corridor that acts as an entrance to the event. It is now a traditional meet and greet, but she will wave to guests and interact with them from an elevated platform. She has been swapping out with Cruella de Vil.

She might pop up in other capacities, too. Look for her in the Boo-to-You Parade!
