Universal Announces Multi-Day Closure for a Beloved Coaster
One of Universal's rollercoasters will temporarily close very soon. Here is what you need to know so you can manage your expectations if the closure impacts your visit.
Temporary Ride Closures

Typically, Universal Orlando Resort announces planned refurbishments that will result in temporary ride closures well in advance. Even though no one likes the idea of a ride or popular attraction being closed during their visit, the notice can help visitors manage their expectations.
Every now and then, though, rides close on short notice. Universal just announced a temporary closure for a classic coaster that is sure to disappoint some visitors.
Of course, we know maintenance is necessary to keep everyone safe. And, hopefully, the ride will be back and better than ever soon!
Roller Coaster Closure at Universal

Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor coaster at Universal Studios Orlando. While it is an older attraction, it has quite a fan following, and many frequent visitors consider it an essential part of every visit to the parks.
If you are traveling to Universal Orlando Resort next week, this could impact your visit! Revenge of the Mummy is set for a multi-day closure!
Since it is an older coaster, every time we hear about a closure affecting Revenge of the Mummy, fans worry it is heading for a retheme. Fortunately, this is not a permanent closure, and although a reason has not been stated, the short timeframe suggests it is for routine maintenance instead of major changes.
Closure Dates for the Mummy

For now, the Revenge of the Mummy closure is scheduled for August 11-13, 2025. However, that is subject to change.
The Revenge of the Mummy will be closed August 11-13, 2025.
The Revenge of Mummy will be up and running again before the permanent closure of RIP Ride Rockit. This way, there will be at least one thrill ride that isn't reliant on screens available at Universal Studios during the approaching Halloween Season.
Do you love the Revenge of the Mummy Coaster? Will the temporary closure impact your next visit? Let us know, and be sure to share the news with family and friends who have a trip planned.

Love the mummy ride! Great indoor coaster that goes slow, fast, stops and even goes backwards. Usually has much better wait times as well..
One of the best “sleeper” rides of any park!
Thanks for reading, George. I agree with you! Your description of it as a "sleeper" ride is right on the money.
