EPCOT Experience Closes Indefinitely
Guests with reservations are now being notified that this experience is closed without further notice. Find out why this closure may actually be a good thing.
Disney Special Experiences

Epcot is home to amazing attractions and immersive pavilions, but it also provides some really cool experiences that you can't find anywhere else in Disney World.
Backstage tours are a great way to experience the park like never before. Epcot offers tours like Behind the Seeds and DiveQuest. In particular, the water-related tours give you the chance to get wet and interact with underwater creatures!
The nature of these special experiences is significantly influenced by the needs of the animals and plants encountered during these tours. For example, the special tour Dolphins in Depth was canceled in October 2024 due to the relocation of all dolphins in this space.
EPCOT Experience Canceled

Disney's Dive Quest closed on October 19, 2024, for a large infrastructure work at the SeaBase Aquarium. This special experience reopened May 1, 2025.
Guests may book this special experience up to 60 days in advance and reservations are highly recommended.
Unfortunately, Disney is now notifying guests with current reservations that the DiveQuest Scuba Experience is canceled with no reopening date given.
Reason for DiveQuest Closure

According to several reports, Disney is canceling the DiveQuest experience due to concerns of the safety and well being of the animals in this enclosure. The primary concern is for Hali, a hammerhead shark.
DiveQuest is currently unavailable at EPCOT
Disney's experienced animal keepers noticed that Hali was swimming laterally which is unusual. With several DiveQuest excursions canceled, Hali has once again returned to swimming normal.
Disney prioritizes the well-being of the animals in their care. Although this may be disappointing for those who booked this experience, we are glad to hear that Hali's condition is improving.
Disney has not shared a reopening timeline for this experience. Currently, no reservations are available to book for DiveQuest on the Walt Disney World website that extends until Friday, October 3, 2025.

So happy that Disney is placing the animals' safety first.
Yes, so glad that they are taking good care of her.
No more vodka for Hali.
