Disney has finally listened to us and is bringing us the Disney magic that we've been missing for the past five years. Beginning May 27 through September 1, 2025, Disney will host "Cool Kid Summer" with summer limited-time activities throughout Walt Disney World.

Typically, Park Reservations rarely fill up at all 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks. However, all four parks were sold out for Annual Passholders yesterday, July 19th.

Today, continues to be a popular day for the Disney Parks with the official debut of "Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away" at Magic Kingdom and the soft opening of Test Track at EPCOT.

Staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts offers a few perks. New for 2025 packages: Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can enjoy admission to one of the water parks on check-in day! This is included with your stay.

When just Blizzard Beach was open this spring, the park hit capacity several times. Disney World helped to alleviate this problem by opening up both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for summer 2025. This is the first time that both water parks have been open since 2020.

This afternoon, July 20, 2025, as guests tried to enter Blizzard Beach, they were told that it was at capacity. Guests were turned away and encouraged to enjoy Typhoon Lagoon. At the time of this writing, we have not heard reports that Typhoon Lagoon ever hit capacity.

Best Tips to enjoy Disney Water Parks

If you hope to enjoy a cool day at either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, our best tip is to arrive early. This may be easier said than done if you are enjoying this as a free resort perk for your day of check-in.

Remember to pack your patience if you will be visiting the water parks later in the afternoon, and understand that you may have to allow additional travel time if one water park hits capacity, as it did today.

It appears that Blizzard Beach hits capacity before Typhoon Lagoon, and the weekends seem to be the busiest time for the water parks. Click to see our comparison of both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
