Multi-Month Refurbishment

Construction has been ongoing for several months at the Emporium at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. Fortunately for Guest, the construction has been happening in phases. The shop has remained open during the refurbishment, letting Guests continue to shop for their favorite Disney souvenirs.
The Emporium construction happened in phases, which allowed the store to remain open for Guests.
The construction walls went up in mid-January, and we just saw more removed today! You can check out the previous construction update HERE.
Updated Construction

More construction walls are down! On our visit to the Emporium this morning, we noticed that the construction walls have been removed.

Even more construction walls have been removed at the Emporium.

The updates have included new tile floors and color scheme throughout the shop. One of the biggest updates with this refubrishment is the checkout counters. The checkout counters are now located at the front and back of the store (near Town Square and one near Casey’s Corner). Checkout counters are no longer located throughout the shop.
What Does This Mean for You?

This is great news as the Emporium is nearing its final stages of refurbishment. We expect a bit more construction ahead as the previous tiles are still in place in some locations in the shop along with checkout counters that are no longer in operation and registers have since been removed.
The refurbishment will help with Guests traffic flow along with consolidating and simplyfying checkout for Guests.
This new layout will make Guests traffic flow more smoothly throughout the shop and centralize the checkout locations.
