Big Improvements Have Happened at This Popular Disney Shop
If you are visiting Magic Kingdom you may have noticed a big improvement at one merchandise shop. Check out the updates.
Refurbishment
Refurbishments have to happen to keep operations running smoothly. Sometimes refurbishments can cause the location to close while other times the location can remain operational during the refurbishment.
Some locations can remain open and operational during their refurbishment.
Disney has many attractions, shops, and restaurants that are currently being refurbished or will undergo refurbishment soon. Some current and planned refurbishments are for a popular table service restaurant, currently bus routes are rerouted at this resort, and you can even see all the construction at Magic Kingdom HERE.
Emporium Refurbishment
Construction walls went up at the emporium in mid-January. Because of the construction walls, the Casey's Corner entrance to the Emporium was closed. Guests were asked to use the Main Street entrance to access Emporium.
Construction walls were placed in the emporium in mid-January. The emporium remained open during the refurbishment.
A section of the shop was closed off during the refurbishment, but guests were still able to enjoy shopping in the Emporium. You can see in the pictures above the reduction in size of the Emporium during the refurbishment.
Some Construction Walls are Down
On my most recent visit to the Emporium, I noticed some big changes. Some of the construction walls have come down!
New tile flooring has been installed along with the ceilings being raised. Some walls have been removed making the space more open and easier for Guests to navigate through the shop, especially when it gets crowded.
Guests can once again enter through The Casey's Corner entrance.
With the construction walls being removed, the Casey's Corner entrance is once again open!
Unfortunately, there are still some construction walls up in the Emporium. It is probably safe to assume that the rest of the Emporium will receive similar updates through a phased closure. This will allow the Emporium to remain open and operational during the refurbishment.
