This Favorite Character Is Missing at Disney World Right Now

Oh no! One of our #1 Disney characters is now missing at Walt Disney World. Check out full details for this closure.

One thing that sets Disney Parks apart from other Theme Parks is so many great character meet and greets. We all love classic characters like Mickey and his pals, but many Disney fans love meeting the classics in various costumes.

Our favorite Character Locator, Kenny the Pirate, has been meeting rare and classic characters for over a decade! You can find schedules, tips, and more on Character Locator.

This summer is a great time to meet a big variety of Disney characters with “Cool Kid Summer” and a special Annual Passholder meet and greet.

Disney Character Changes

Walt Disney World has quite a few refurbishments and expansions underway at all 4 Theme Parks, even with the busy summer crowds. Unfortunately, this often changes special character interactions.

Many times, Disney will relocate characters, such as at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at DinoLand USA. Other times, this task is not quite as easy. Currently, there are large construction walls spanning from EPCOT’s Mexico pavilion to the Norway pavilion.

These construction walls cover where guests can meet Donald Duck in his festive sombrero. Currently, Donald Duck’s meet and greet schedule is missing from the My Disney Experience app for EPCOT.

This is a bit disappointing for guests visiting EPCOT, as this is the only location to see Donald Duck at this park.

Walt Disney World has not shared a reopening timeline for this meet-and-greet location. We are hoping for a brief closure. If you are visiting the other Walt Disney World Parks, you can meet Donald Duck at each of these. My (Donna) favorite place to meet our #1 Donald Duck is at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
