Disney has finally listened to us and is bringing us the Disney magic that we've been missing for the past five years. Beginning May 27 through September 1, 2025, Disney will host "Cool Kid Summer" with summer limited-time activities throughout Walt Disney World.

You can check out the full guide to the "Cool Kid Summer" activities HERE. New entertainment debuts this summer at Walt Disney World at Disney's Hollywood Studios with "Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After" and "The Little Mermaid-A Musical Adventure."

"Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away" will delight Magic Kingdom guests as the sun sets starting on July 20th. Disney made changes to their Park Reservation system to accommodate huge crowds wanting to enjoy this new show.

Staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts offers a few perks. New for 2025 packages: Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can enjoy admission to one of the water parks on check-in day! This is included with your stay.

When just Blizzard Beach was open this spring, the park hit capacity several times. Disney World helped to alleviate this problem by opening up both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for summer 2025. This is the first time that both water parks have been open since 2020.

This afternoon, June 1, 2025, as guests tried to enter Blizzard Beach, they were told that it was at capacity. Guests were turned away and encouraged to enjoy Typhoon Lagoon. At the time of this writing, we have not heard reports that Typhoon Lagoon ever hit capacity.

If you hope to enjoy a cool day at either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, our best tip is to arrive early. This may be easier said than done if you are enjoying this as a free resort perk for your day of check-in.

Remember to pack your patience if you will be visiting the water parks later in the afternoon, and understand that you may have to allow additional travel time if one water park hits capacity, as it did today. Click to see our comparison of both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
