Disney Explains Park Affordability Is the Guest's Responsibility
With growing price increases at the Disney Parks, many loyal fans question whether the price is worth it. Now, Disney Parks explain that it is the guest who must make choices to make a Disney vacation affordable.
Is Disney Too Expensive

Over the past several months, the Walt Disney Company has been under attack by many who feel that the Disney parks are too expensive for the average family. Walt Disney first envisioned Disneyland as a place where parents and children could enjoy attractions in a magical land together.
These conversations first began when a Wall Street Journal post, "Some inside Disney worry that the company has become addicted to price hikes and has reached the limits of what middle-class Americans can afford."
The Walt Disney Company responded, stating that they felt the lifelong memories that guests create as well worth the current price. This led many to believe that the Walt Disney Company was truly out of touch with its target audience.
Disney Price Increases

During a recent question-and-answer session at the MoffettNathanson Media Internet & Communications Conference, Josh D'Amaro, the Chairman of Disney Experiences, responded to concerns that the Disney Parks are no longer affordable for many families.
D'Amaro shared that daily, he asks himself, "How do we create experiences and pricing structures and optionality to invite as many families as possible into these experiences?"
He admitted, "Now, of course, costs are increasing - we all know that, and I have a responsibility to the Disney Company and to our investors to make sure that we're very thoughtful about those costs."
Disney Price Guest Responsibility

D'Amaro shares that the goal of Disney Parks is to deliver great value. D'Amaro shares that even those families who are "budget conscious" can still enjoy a Disney family vacation. "You can still go to Disneyland today for $104-the same price it was in 2018 or 2019. You can still stay in a value hotel at Walt Disney World."
This brings guests in with summer deals and Walt Disney World Resort offers. In essence, those Guests who feel that Disney Parks are too expensive should aim to visit the Disney Parks during the cheapest dates and use value resorts.
D'Amaro shares that even those families who are "budget conscious" can still enjoy a Disney family vacation.
For times with busier crowds, D'Amaro shares that higher prices (such as around holidays) help to "maximize the value for that day and also control crowding."

"Thank's For The Memories"
I have always liked Josh but he has changed as he would possibly replacing Iger. Now spouting Disney propaganda about why Disney is not too expensive and a good deal for memories.
Disney prices have become extravagant.
I let my AP expire and make many fewer trips as refuse to give them more money as no longer worth the costs.
Use to buy passes and go in several times almost always buying dinner and merch. Did not renew and haven’t been in in six months. Definitely enough changes in policy and price that I see difference not worth it. Even have dvc, been just staying in the hotel and swimming and not doing park or eating. With a family of six they have made it easy to save thousands and put it towards better use of vacay funds elsewhere this year. If that is worth it for them that’s ok but I am moving slowly to different options.
Just like a typical liberal company, they are totally out of touch with their base
I hope he doesn't take over for Iger...he sounds about as clueless.
