Disney Cracks Down on Memory Maker

Everyone loves to share photos from their Disney Parks vacations, but a recent change now makes that a little harder. See how this new change may affect your family vacation photos.

Disney Memory Maker

One of the best souvenirs that my (Donna) family loves to bring home after each Disney vacation is family photos. Disney's professional PhotoPass photographers are available throughout the Theme Parks to include your entire party in all of your fabulous vacation photos.

This also includes attraction photos captured on select Disney attractions. These photos are all available on your My Disney Experience app in the Photo Gallery.

You can purchase these photos individually, or you can purchase the Memory Maker to have access to all of your photos. This may be purchased 3 days or more ahead of your vacation for $185 or $210 after that. There is also the option to purchase a single day for $75.

Disney Photo Screenshots

Guests can view their photos on the My Disney Experience Photo Gallery. If they had purchased the Memory Maker, these photos would have been fully visible. For other guests, a watermark is applied to each photo unless purchased individually or if the Memory Maker was purchased.

Previously, Guests could take a screenshot of these photos with or without a watermark. Even with the watermark, Disney fans still loved to share photos, especially those captured on Disney attractions.

Now, when you try to take a screenshot in the Photo Gallery, a blank white screen is captured. This is the case even for guests who have purchased Memory Maker.

Disney Photo Downloads

Now the only way to enjoy those photos in your Disney Photo Gallery is to download them. This means that guests who have not purchased the Memory Maker or purchased the photo individually will not be able to capture the image freely.

If you are considering purchasing the Memory Maker, we highly recommend purchasing this 3 days before your Disney vacation to enjoy the most savings. This includes all photos and videos within 30 days of your selected start date.
