runDisney Announces These Races Will be on Hiatus Beginning Next Year

Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend

Today, runDisney shared some very disappointing news for the runDisney community. It was announced that runDisney races in Disneyland would be going on hiatus next year. The official statement on the runDisney website reads:

“Due to upcoming construction impacts, runDisney races at the Disneyland Resort will be placed on hiatus in 2026 after the conclusion of the 2026 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend presented by HONDA. We will continue to offer races at Walt Disney World Resort, as well as virtual offerings.”

The hiatus will begin after the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend, which takes place January 31 -February 1, 2026. runDisney shares the hiatus is due to the upcoming impact of construction. No Disney World races will be impacted.

What Does This Mean for You?

This is certainly disappointing news for runDisney athletes, as the runDisney races have just returned to the West Coast. If you were planning on completing the Coast to Coast Challenge, you are going to want to try and register for the upcoming Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.

General Registration for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend opens on April 29, 2025 at 10 AM ET.

No return date for the Disneyland races has been announced. The Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend will most likely sell out quickly!
