A new change at Disney’s Fantasyland has us worried for guests hoping to “rope drop” Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This change may greatly impact your plans for a magical day at the Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom Rope Drop

Many Disney guests arrive at the parks early to enjoy the most popular attractions with minimal waits. Rope drop essentially means the time that a particular park or experience opens.
At Disney parks, cast members often drop a rope holding guests back upon opening a particular theme park or land. This is for guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort using Early Entry.
All other guests are held at another rope along the Castle Hub area. These guests are invited to enjoy Main Street, USA until Magic Kingdom officially opens for the day.
New Fantasyland Refurbishment

Disney refurbishments are becoming quite common nowadays. The current construction walls are located at the bridge connecting Main Street USA to Fantasyland right near Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café and the Enconto meet and greet location.
Disney did not announce this refurbishment, but much work has been taking place throughout the Magic Kingdom on concrete refurbishment. It appears that this may be the case for this area as well.
The large construction walls definitely will affect the flow of traffic coming in and out of this land and greatly affect guests hoping to rope drop Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The line waiting rope drop typically extends across this bridge. With these new construction walls in place, this will create even more congestion.
Plan Ahead

Thankfully, these construction walls do not close off any of the attractions in this area. Guests may still meet Mirabel to the left of this bridge, entering into Fantasyland.
New construction walls block the bridge entrance into Fantasyland.
The walkway between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland is still open, but be aware that it will become quite congested with these construction walls in place. Hopefully, these walls will only be up for a short period.
