Disney continues to reboot beloved animated classics as live-action movies. While some fans loathe the renditions, they seem to be providing a big enough draw to entice Disney to make more. Fans hope to see their favorite stories honored on the big screen.

The next live-action film to hit theaters will be Lilo & Stitch.

It was announced at D23 that this summer, a live-action Lilo & Stitch would hit the theaters. They even gave a first look at what Stitch (or Experiment 626) would look like. This is the second live-action film for Disney this year as Snow White will released in theaters on March 21, 2025.

Today, Disney has released the first official trailer for the live-action Lilo & Stitch. The trailer highlights some of our favorite parts from the original animated film.

Check out the first official trailer in its entirety below:

I (Heather) love that they have included so much from the original film, including some of our favorite lines. However, there looks to be some funny and cute new additions as well.

The live-action Lilo & Stitch will hit theaters Memorial Day Weekend, May 23rd to be exact. I was unsure how this live-action would turn out, as Disney had only shared snippets of Stitch causing havoc, like in the Super Bowl commercial.

After seeing the trailer, I feel it looks like a great movie to take your ohana to! Don’t forget, ohana means family, and family means “nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
