Character Interactions

One thing that sets Disney Parks apart from other Theme Parks is the number of great character meet and greets. We all love classic characters like Mickey and his pals, but many Disney fans love rare meet-and-greets.

Some are traditional meet-and-greets where guests wait in line for their chance to interact with their favorite Disney characters. Typically, at these meet and greets, guests have an opportunity for a photo (by a Disney PhotoPass photographer or on your camera) and an autograph.

Other interactions are a bit different for roaming characters. The most popular roaming character remains The Mandalorian and Grogu at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. See more on this interaction HERE.

Today, Disney Parks got the attention of all of us Star Wars fans when they teased a new character that may be coming to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.

We first see the setting of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and a black cloaked individual. Then, R2D2 enters. This is our first chance to see who is under the black cloak.

In Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, it is none other than Luke Skywalker. The only information provided by Disney Parks is "A Jedi...like his father before him."

More information will be released on Monday, February 10, 2025. At this time, it is difficult to tell which Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge he will be coming to.

Our hope is that Luke Skywalker will come to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Disneyland will begin hosting the Star Wars Season of the Force beginning March 28 through May 11, 2025. This could be reserved for this special season. We will share updated information when it is released.

  1. It's always just a tease. We live next to Fort Wilderness and AP so always in the parks and seldom see characters at GE. We loved when captain Phasma would march with storm troopers before GE opened then nothing after opening. Once in a while chewy and Rey will be on overhead walkway but not often and storm troopers are rarely seen and same with Kylo Ren . No longer offering jedi training for kids either.....many cut backs.
