Mandalorian and Grogu Arrive
Star Wars: “The Mandalorian” is a space Western web television series created by Jon Favreau, and it premiered as a new original series on Disney+ when the streaming service became available in November 2019. “The Mandalorian” is the first live-action series for the Star Wars franchise.
The popular series just returned for Season 3 on Disney+. The return of this popular show also brought exciting news to Disney Parks. The Mandalorian and Grogu arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 1, 2023. The Mandalorian and Grogu first appeared in Disneyland on November 18, 2022.
Currently, the Mandalorian and Grogu are not listed on the My Disney Experience app, and this meet-and-greet information is a little elusive. This may be in part due to the popularity of this meet and greet. The Cast Members at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge also do a great job staying in character for their specific locations which makes it difficult to gain information as to where and when this character interaction takes place.
Character Meeting Tips
If you want to have the best chance to see the Mandalorian and Grogu, you will want to head to the Marketplace at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This is the open-air type market. You will want to head towards the entrance to the Marketplace that is closest to Rise of the Resistance and the Creature Stall.
Before you walk up to the Marketplace there is a cluster of tan umbrellas and a Cast Member-only entrance. This is the location where the Mandalorian enters and exits. He will come out slowly walking through the crowd. He may pause briefly for guests to take a picture, but there is no PhotoPass photographer at this location.
It seems a bit chaotic and Cast Members continue to remind guests “Do not touch The Child!” On the day that I (Donna) visited he came out around 4:10 pm and completed his walk-through in about fifteen minutes.
The best suggestion is to be near this Cast Member’s entrance at the top of the hour with his last set starting at 5:00 pm. Be ready with your phone handy if you hope to get a photo. This is an amazing interaction, but it happens so quickly.

Walt Disney World has not shared how long the Mandalorian and Grogu will be greeting guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We are hopeful that this will become a normal interaction.
