Several Orlando theme parks, including Universal Studios, are closing due to Hurricane Milton. See what is closing and when.
Universal Studios Closing
Due to Hurricane Milton, Universal Orlando Resort is making the following operational changes for Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10:
On October 9, Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Universal CityWalk will be open until 2:00 pm and will be closed on October 10.
Universal Volcano Bay will be closed on both October 9 and 10. In addition, Halloween Horror Nights is also cancelled for October 9 and 10.
Universal anticipates a full reopening on Friday, October 11 at normal operating hours pending the outcome of storm impacts.
Other Theme Parks
Gatorland will be closed October 9 and 10 and it plans to reopen on Friday, October 11. SeaWorld announced that it will close on October 9 and 10 as well. Be sure to check back for updates on park reopening for October 11.
Aquatica Orlando and Discovery Cove will also be closed both days.
Legoland Florida will also be closed Wednesday and Thursday. Hotel operations will continue with limited capacity.
What About Disney?
Disney has not made any major announcements at this time regarding its Florida theme parks. Disney’s Fort Wilderness, Copper Creek cabins, and Saratoga Springs treehouses will close tomorrow morning. You can read about that here.
We anticipate an announcement from Disney very soon – possibly as early as later today.
The Disney Wish sailing that departs on Friday is cancelled. Guests will receive a full refund plus 20% off a future cruise.
