Disney fans can agree on many things in the Disney fan universe, but ranking the Walt Disney World theme parks is a tough one. We admit that we were pretty shocked when we saw these new ratings. Do you agree with these?
Top Ranking
The top-rated Walt Disney World Theme Park is EPCOT among Yelp reviewers with 4.2 stars. Great food offerings bump this park above the rest.
Along with great international food options, guests also enjoy the two newest attractions Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Journey of Water.
One reviewer sums it up perfectly, “Overall, this is one of the parks where parents and kids can both have fun, eat great food, and learn about different cultures from around the world in one single day. Talk about a great day!”
Runner Up
Following so very close to EPCOT is Disney’s Animal Kingdom at 4.1 stars. We do love Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but how it ranked compared to Disney’s Magic Kingdom surprised even us.
Among the top positive reviews is how immersive this park is. Many guests shared that the fact they could enjoy the entire park in one day was a huge bonus.
Many reviewers visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the very first time, and fell in love with the food and the many activities besides simply attractions to enjoy.
Shocking Ranking for Magic Kingdom
The first park to open at Walt Disney World is Magic Kingdom, and to many, this is the park they first picture when thinking of “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”
Magic Kingdom ranks 3rd among the Walt Disney World Parks.
Yelp reviewers gave this park 3.9 stars. The common theme complaints for Magic Kingdom are poor food options, feeling as though the day was spent on your phone rather than enjoying the park, and the overuse of Lightning Lane guests.
Last Place: Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios ranks last among Yelp reviewers with 3.7 stars. The main complaint among Disney goers is that the wait times are staggering at this park.
Going along with long wait times many attractions are unreliable. We are looking at you, Rise of the Resistance. This adds to frustration when guests wait in long lines and then the ride temporarily closes for an indefinite period.
This is indeed based upon a select group of reviewers, but it does seem that a few common truths emerge. Guests want more experiences than simply attractions. There is also a common desire to spend more time enjoying the parks than tapping your phone for the next attraction.

Not really... the phone thing is a side effect of Genie+. I'm not crazy about the need to be on the phone, so many days I don't use Genie+. I would pay for it if I could pick 3 ahead of time, pick my times, and schedule before the morning of. In other words I would purchase it more it I was paying for something that worked more like the fastpass+ system. I also miss the street atmosphere, street actors at both Magic Kingdom and Studios. It used to be so much fun to interact with PUSH in Tomorrowland or the Mayor and others on Main Street. Or to watch or even take part in one of the street skits at Studios. And I also miss the exhibits which showed you behind the scenes of movies. When we could see all the props from 101 Dalmatians...that was great. All of these were fun things that fit nicely in between rides and food. Miss these a lot.

Those are my two favorite parks. I love the Epcot festivals! Hollywood Studios..... I'm still upset that Disney got rid of the Osborne Lights!

Am I surprised? Yes and No. Epcot is the most interesting park for the reasons cited. I might have MK second and AK as third. While I give Studios credit for the Toy Story Land build out and the expanded Star Wars area, much of Studios has been forgotten. Tower of Terror will always remain among the best attractions WDW ever developed. I miss the original concept of Studios, back in the MGM days. I miss the Backlog Tour complete with the canyon excitement; the movie set showing how war movies were filmed; the Great Movie Ride; and all the street magic and spontaneous actor engagement. Studios was a fun park back then. Bring back Starring Rolls Cafe!
Many of the attraction refurbishments have had the opposite effect - they are boring or break down a lot now.
