Just recently, Disney CEO Bob Iger shared that a new Pandora land will open at Disneyland. However, it appears that may not actually be the case. Check out this statement by Disney that makes us wonder what will actually happen at Disneyland.

Guests have enjoyed the immersive Land of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for several years. It is one of the most immersive and beautiful lands Disney has created in the last several years.

In November, Disney shared there would be an Avatar experience coming to Disneyland. No information was shared on what this experience would be. Check out that announcement HERE.

We have speculated that maybe it would be a smaller experience or single attraction. And, we have also considered the fact that it may take over an entire area – either as an add-on or replacing a current area.

Iger’s Comments

Earlier this week, Iger participated in a Q&A session. One of his comments piqued our curiosity. He mentioned that the Avatar experience would be an entire land.

“We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in California. That doesn’t mean we can’t put one somewhere in Asia or somewhere in Europe for instance.”

While this is all very exciting, you may not want to get your hopes up too high just yet. The Walt Disney Company shared key notes from that conference.

Iger referenced the excitement about plans to develop an Avatar experience at Disneyland in California and acknowledged the prospect of other properties where the franchise might also be successful, noting the popularity of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Walt Disney World in Florida. Iger said that if you “build it right, build it with excellence,” guests will come.

We will continue to keep an eye on this developing experience/land and keep you updated if any new details emerge.
