More Than Just Food

There is so much to see, eat, shop, and do at EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival. One of my (Heather) favorite things is to check out all the topiaries that are on display. These floral displays are beautiful and truly a site to be seen. Check them out HERE.

A must-see topiary is Groot! He plays music from the movie’s soundtrack.

You will definitely want to pick up some of the Orange Bird merchandise from the festival. Check out all things Orange Bird HERE. Some of these items are popular, so if you have your eye on something, you should shop early.

Refreshment Outpost

My first stop at the festival was the Refreshment Outpost. It is located near the back of the World Showcase. It offers up drinks, beer on tap, hot-dogs, seasonal offerings, and ice cream.

I tried the Seasonal Parfait. The Seasonal Parfait is a mango Dole Whip that has watermelon, pineapple, and mango chunks with a sweet chili sauce poured over the top.

There is a gentle and sweet heat that this frozen treat offers. The sweetness from the fruit nicely balances out the heat from the chili sauce. You may not notice the chili taste right away, but it does quietly come after.

Even though this isn’t like spicy buffalo hot, this could be too much heat for some. For example, I do not feel that my kids would enjoy the chili sauce, but I loved it.

I won’t lie. I was hesitant to try a “spicy” dessert; however, this was a unique and fun frozen offering that I would get again and give it two thumbs up!
