It is still hurricane season, which means some plans may need to be adjusted if a storm happens. One Disney Cruise has had their itinerary changed.

Hurricane Season

Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. That’s half the year! Typically, the bulk of hurricanes hit during the months of August, September, and October. September is considered peak hurricane season in Florida.

So, we still have a good month of hurricane season left. If you are traveling during this time, be sure to have a back up plan if plans should change. It is also best to know your destinations cancellation policy along with any transportation cancellation policies you may be using.

Last month, Hurricane Lee may not have affected Disney World too much, but it did change the itinerary for one Disney Cruise Line ship. The Disney Fantasy had to adjust their seven night sailing at the beginning of September. You can read more about this change HERE.

Luckily, Guests were able to take in an extra day at Castaway Cay, but they did miss out on other stops. Unfortunately, this is a chance you take sailing during hurricane season, but Disney makes their best effort to still provide a memorable trip for their Guests.

It has now been reported on the Port Saint John website that the Disney Dream will now be coming to Port Saint John on October 29, 2023.

As you can see the image above, the Disney Dream is expected to be at Port Saint John on October 29, 2023 from 2:45 am – 10:40 pm. This is a COMPLETE itinerary change. This cruise is now a 4 night Canadian sailing.

The October 27, 2023 sailing was set to be a 4 night Bermuda sailings. The new itinerary is:

  • Friday October 27, 2023 – New York
  • Saturday October 28, 2023 – At Sea
  • Sunday October 29, 2023 – Saint John, New Brunswick
  • Monday October 30, 2023 – At Sea
  • Tuesday October 31, 2023 – New York (Debarkation)

These changes are being made due to Hurricane Tammy expected to be near Bermuda this coming weekend. This will definitely be disappointing for Guests that were looking forward to sailing to Bermuda, but hopefully they can still have a magical time.

The October 27, 2023 sailing of the Disney Dream is now going to Canada instead of Bermuda due to Hurricane Tammy.

Granted, it’s not Bermuda, but we don’t wear winter clothes in October in Canada.

I would not be happy going to Canada instead of Bermuda. Did they tell them in advance? Winter clothes needed instead of clothes for warmer weather. Saw recently one ship went to a western Caribbean instead of Eastern. That would be fine but such a change to colder weather, not good! But you can’t control a hurricane…..

I would be disappointed in a cruise to Canada versus Bermuda too. I do believe they will be notified first as was the other altered itinerary. Thank you for reading!
