A land that has just opened to Guests is partially closed for a refurbishment due to problems that just won’t quit.

Mickey’s Toontown features new play experiences, as well as open, grassy play spaces for everyone to unplug. The land has landscaping for both spontaneous family play and parental relaxation

Even with a greener and more spacious Mickey’s Toontown, the land offers more play activities and attractions than ever before. From active play to tactile play, new experiences let children play, slide, spin, splash, touch and listen!

Part of Toontown CLOSED

Mickey’s Toontown just reopened in Disneyland in March. However, this area of the park has been plagued with needing many touch ups. Things such as the rubber flooring of the playground to the artificial turf need constant repair.

Earlier this year, Disneyland closed a few areas for maintenance, but these areas are now closed again! Centoonial Park is closed and will remain closed through October 22, 2023.

Once this area reopens, Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard will close to Guests on October 23, 2023. Disneyland’s goal is to have all the work completed by the beginning of November.

What Needs to be Fixed?

Guests may have noticed that in Centoonial Park, soft surfaces around the Dreaming Tree need repair. There is also a leak under the Mickey and Minnie fountain. Unfortunately, a section of turf will be replaced with brick pavers due to Guest traffic.

Some good does come with this closure though. In Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard new play elements will be added while others are repaired! Currently the teeter totters have been removed along with a birdhouse from this area. We will have to wait and see if these will return when this section opens up from its refurbishment.

One thing that has not opened at all is Donald Duck’s water play area. I really hope that we get to see this area open when the rest of the land reopens!
