Annual Passholder Benefits

Disney Annual Passholders receive many great perks at the Disney Parks. This can include special merchandise discounts, resort discounts, special previews, and access to the Disney Parks.

The benefits and availability of these passes vary greatly throughout the Disney Parks. Most recently, Walt Disney World announced a great merchandise event for Annual Passholders. Check out dates and full details HERE. There has also been much news over the Disneyland Magick Key lawsuit and the pause in Magic Key sales at Disneyland.

Merchandise Limits

At Walt Disney World, signs limit merchandise to “2 per item, per Guest.” These signs were first displayed throughout ALL 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks back in August 2021. This will apply to all merchandise except snacks and food.

Disney Parks try to limit merchandise limits, and now they will also limit discounts for select Disney Annual Passholders. Annual Passholders need to check out full details for their benefits to see exactly what is included in their Annual Passholder tier.

Shanghai Disneyland is changing its Annual Passholder tiers. They are now replacing their former Crystal Pass with a new Pearl Pass available on September 15th.

This Pearl Pass will be similar to the Pixie Dust Pass at Walt Disney World, limiting guests to primarily weekdays only. The Sapphire Annual Pass is subject to blackout dates, and guests must make a Park Reservation.

The Diamond Annual Pass features no blackout dates and Park Reservations are not required. What is interesting with the return of these Annual Pass sales is that now a “Discount Limit” is in place. This new rule states “The cumulative payment limit of coupons used during the validity period of the annual pass is 100,000 yuan.” This is roughly $13,700 US dollars.

This is an interesting limit now added to the Annual Pass program. It does lead us to wonder how this may affect popular merchandise if a similar limit was placed on Walt Disney World Annual Passholders.

New Discount Limits are now included for Shanghai Disneyland Annual Passholder tiers.

What do you think of this discount limit? Do you think this would limit possible Annual Passholder discount misuse? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with a friend.

I doubt this will happen in the U.S. It sounds like Disney is using this limit to cut down on the number of Chinese passholders who are reselling Disney merchandise. Disney has other ways to enforce its "personal use only" policy against U.S. passholders.

It sucks and I hope it doesn't come to WDW. keep doing this kind of stuff and I will not continue to purchase an annual pass in the future it is just not going to be worth it

Disney is continuing its policy of "charging more for less." What a disappointment. This only proves that Bob Iger is merely a smoother, slicker version of Bob Chapek.

I think passholders should get whatever quantity they want. They pay all that money and continue to lose benefits I don't know why they even do it.
