Pickle Milkshake
When I (Jamie) read there was going to be a Pickle Milkshake at Brew-wing this year, it was the first thing I put on my must-try list! I love pickles, and was excited to try this new drink. I did have reservations, because the words “pickle” and “milk” sound absolutely disgusting next to each other, but I thought how bad can it really be?
Turns out, really bad!
Combining the flavors of dill and vanilla are an interesting choice for sure, but pulling it off is another story. The flavors of the shake don’t actually combine together well to make it enjoyable at all!
The first sip was a mixture of dill, vanilla, and a chalky like texture that can only be compared to the Necco wafer candies I used to eat (and hate!) as a kid! There is also a strong pickle brine tanginess as an aftertaste that doesn’t go over well.
Much to our disappointment, my group couldn’t take more than a few sips without feeling ill from this pickle milkshake. I wish I could recommend this one to the other pickle lovers out there, but sadly, this one is a HUGE miss!
For Heather’s take on what is delicious at Brew-wing, head over here for some great recommendations!
