Tiana’s Bayou Adventure may be “Almost There” with this rumored possible opening date.

The enchantment of the bayou will illuminate with a celebration during Mardi Gras season hosted by Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. In addition, Mama Odie will reprise her role as the catalyst of that magic.

Mama Odie will joke with guests along their journey after a special display of her magic. The two-hundred-year-old Bayou Fairy Godmother, with her eccentric belongings and “seeing eye snake,” Juju, is comically eccentric, yet wise and all-knowing, throughout the adventure.

Right now, the only timeline we have for the ride’s opening is sometime in late 2024. Work began immediately following the closure of Splash Mountain this past January. We have seen big changes made to this location over the past several months.

Although Disney has not announced a definitive timeline for the opening of this attraction, we did notice very interesting park reservation blackout dates for Incredipass Annual Passholders. The remainder of 2023 shows no blackout dates and all of 2024 offers availability. That is all but 5 dates in September.

When looking at the Park Reservation availability. It shows that September 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th are blocked for all theme parks. This is quite unusual. Yes, this does include Labor Day, but typically the IncrediPass does not have blackout dates. All other major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, and the 4th of July remain available.

Possibly Disney is planning for big news of an opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and placed these blackout dates in place before this announcement. This is the next big project that Walt Disney World has in the works with an opening in 2024.

At this time we are uncertain why only these dates are unavailable, but we are hopeful that big news will be announced soon.

I could careless, when it opens. Its not a ride for the little kids who love to see Tiana the princess - they are too young! And what is Tiana supposed to be anyway? Certainly, not a princess in that outfit. Then there's the music. Anyone who hates jazz - and I am one of them - would not want to go on this ride. It would drive me crazy. With a New Orleans theme - Disney is focusing on adults! Once again Walt's idea of family style rides - thrown out of the window. Or should I say thrown down into the water.
